The Sun Publisher Neya Kalu writes Arise TV, Condoles with Chairman Over Murder of Staff

Barrister Neya Kalu, Chairman and Publisher of The Sun Publishing Ltd has written to the Chairman of Thisday Media Group, the parent owner of Arise TV whose staff Somtochukwu Maduagwu was murdered yesterday in Abuja.

In the letter dated September 30, Kalu condoled with the entire ThisDay family, ARISE News Channel, and most especially Somto’s parents, siblings,extended family, and friends

The body of the letter reads ;

LETTER OF CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF SOMTOCHUKWU MADUAGWU

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I write to you regarding the tragic and untimely passing of Somtochukwu Christelle Maduagwu, one of journalism’s bright lights who was taken from us far too soon. At just 29 years old, Sommie had so much more to give to the profession she loved and served with such dedication.

“As a colleague in the media industry, I have long admired the work of journalists like Sommie who bring stories to life with passion, integrity, and professionalism. Her role as a News Anchor, Reporter, and Producer at ARISE News Channel showcased not only her journalistic talent but also her commitment to informing and connecting with audiences across Nigeria and beyond.

“The violent circumstances of her death are deeply disturbing and underscore the serious security challenges facing our nation. No one should lose their life in such a senseless manner, especially not in the safety of their own home. We join ARISE News Channel in calling for a swift, thorough investigation and the prosecution of those responsible for this heinous crime.
