Primate Elijah Ayodele, the spiritual leader of INRI Evangelical Church has said 2027 will be tough for the Abia State governor, Alex Otti, if the younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Mascot, decided to contest the governorship election in the State.
AbaCityBlog reports that Mascot Uzor Kalu, the immediate younger brother of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, a former Abia State governor on Saturday, 19th October, 2025 declared intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Abia under the platform of All Progressive Congress, APC, party.
During the declaration, Mascot said he was moved to join the race for the good of the people. He hinted that his administration when elected will be based on transparency and accountability.
According to him, the Local government will be able to receive their allocation from the federal government to enable the council chairmen perform their duties diligently. He also said every projects cost will be made open so Abians will be able to know cost of each projects his administration has done.
Speaking on Sunday, Primate Ayodele said 2027 will be tough for the Abia incumbent governor, Alex Otti who will be seeking for re-election in 2027 should Mascot Uzor Kalu decided to contest the governorship election.
“In Abia State, if Mascot Uzor Kalu contests for the 2027 governorship election, it’s going to be tough for Governor Alex Otti. It’s going to be very tough,” Primate Ayodele said.
