A political group in Abia State, Reality Organization, has distanced itself from a statement alleging that the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Okezie Kalu, was backing political opponents against Senator Orji Uzor Kalu ahead of the 2027 Abia North Senatorial election.
In a statement issued by the State Chairman of the group, Barr. Peter Ndukwe, the organization described the report as false, misleading, and the handiwork of enemies of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abia State.
The group specifically denied the existence of any member known as “Elder Kalu Kalu” from Ikwun Ihechiowa Ward in Arochukwu Local Government Area speaking on behalf of the organization.
Barr. Ndukwe stated that the Reality Organization remains committed to the unity and progress of the APC and would not be involved in any action capable of creating division among party leaders.
“We wish to categorically state that the Reality Organization has no member bearing the name Elder Kalu Kalu in Ikwun Ihechiowa Ward or anywhere else speaking for the group. The statement being circulated did not emanate from us and should be disregarded by the public,” he said.
The organization reaffirmed its support for cordial relationships among APC leaders in Abia State, particularly between Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and the Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu.
According to the statement, both leaders are working together for the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the growth of the APC in Abia State ahead of future elections.
“There is no rift between Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu. Both leaders remain committed to the victory of President Tinubu and the overall success of the APC in Abia State,” the statement added.
The organization further urged party faithful and members of the public to ignore what it described as deliberate attempts by political opponents to sow discord within the APC family in the state.
Barr. Ndukwe maintained that the Reality Organization would continue to promote peace, unity, and cooperation among party stakeholders for the collective interest of the party and the development of Abia State.
