2027: Tinubu-Shettima Ticket Will Sustain Reform Agenda – Deputy Speaker, Kalu

Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, has welcomed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision to retain Vice President Kashim Shettima as his running mate for the 2027 presidential election, saying the move will strengthen the administration’s ongoing security and economic reforms.

Kalu, in a statement issued on Sunday through his Chief Press Secretary, Levinus Nwabughiogu, described the President’s decision as one that reflects confidence in a leadership team he said has remained committed to implementing the Renewed Hope Agenda.

According to the Deputy Speaker, the renomination of Vice President Shettima signals continuity in governance and demonstrates the administration’s resolve to sustain its policies and programmes across critical sectors of the economy.

He said the Tinubu-Shettima partnership had laid a foundation for reforms aimed at improving national security, stabilising the economy and promoting development, expressing confidence that a renewed mandate would consolidate those achievements.

Kalu also congratulated the Vice President on his renomination, describing it as a recognition of his loyalty, competence and dedication to national service.

He expressed optimism that the partnership between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima would continue to deliver greater dividends of democracy and accelerate the government’s reform agenda.

“Your loyalty, experience and commitment to nation-building are deeply appreciated. I have no doubt that this partnership will further consolidate our gains in security, economic reform and prosperity for all Nigerians,” Kalu said.

The Deputy Speaker also prayed for divine wisdom, strength and guidance for both leaders as they continue to steer the affairs of the country.
