In Igbo land, there is an old wisdom that never grows old: ‘nwanta kwoo aka ya nkeoma, o soro ndi okenye rie nri.’ He who washes his hands well, eats with elders.
That proverb walks and talks in the person of Dr. Chima Anyaso.
In an era where wealth often builds walls between the rich and the people, Dr. Chima has done the opposite. He has used success to draw closer to the people. He has used influence to lift others. And that is why His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of Abia State, keeps him close. Because capacity always recognizes capacity.
Just recently, Dr. Chima had the rare privilege of sitting in the company of Governor Otti and Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR. After the meeting, he put into words what many felt in their hearts:

Dr. Chima Anyaso is a billionaire businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist. Yet walk into any community in Bende and you will not meet pride. You will meet simplicity. You will meet a man who remembers names, who asks after widows, who stops for students.
For years, without cameras and without noise, this son of Abia has been building.
He established the first free school in Abia State for children whose parents could not afford a single textbook.
He has paid hospital bills that would have broken families.
He has discovered and promoted talents in sports, music, and skills acquisition.
He has stood with our youths long before politics made it fashionable.
This is not charity as performance. This is leadership as lifestyle.
And now, the conversation in Bende Federal Constituency is shifting. People are saying that sending Dr. Chima to the National Assembly is not about giving him a title. It is about expanding his reach. It is about taking the same compassion, the same transparency, and the same personal commitment to the floor of the House.
What makes the story even more remarkable is how he has done it. No government contracts. No political appointment. No godfather. Just personal resources, personal sacrifice, and a personal decision to serve.
