The Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso (OFUJI), has officially declared the commencement of his campaign for the 2027 House of Representatives election, calling on the people of Bende to join him in building a stronger, more united and prosperous constituency.

Dr. Anyaso made the declaration on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, while addressing Ndi Bende, describing the commencement of the campaign as the beginning of an important chapter in his political journey and that of the OFUJI Movement.

According to him, the campaign is not about his personal ambition or merely about a political party, but about the collective future of Bende and its people.

“This journey is bigger than Chima Anyaso. It is bigger than one political party. It is bigger than one election. This journey is about Bende. It is about our children and the future we will leave for them.”

He said his aspiration to represent Bende Federal Constituency at the National Assembly is driven by his belief in the enormous potential of the people and communities that make up the constituency.

Dr. Anyaso emphasized that his philosophy of leadership is anchored on service, responsibility, compassion and accountability, stressing that political office should be treated as a sacred trust entrusted to elected representatives by the people.

“Leadership is not a title. Leadership is service. It is responsibility. It is compassion. It is the willingness to use whatever God has placed in your hands to improve the lives of others,” he stated.

The Labour Party candidate pledged to offer representation that listens to the people, remains accessible and accountable, and ensures that public resources and opportunities work for the benefit of the people.

He identified areas including youth development, agriculture, education, enterprise, healthcare, community development and empowerment as issues requiring greater attention in Bende.

Dr. Anyaso also used the occasion to set the tone for what he described as a peaceful and issue-driven campaign, declaring that the OFUJI campaign would not be built on hatred, bitterness, insults or division.

He assured supporters that the campaign would not seek to divide Bende North against Bende South or one community against another.

“We will not turn brothers against brothers because of politics. Election will come and go. Political positions will come and go, but Bende will remain.”

He further appealed to supporters of the OFUJI Movement to campaign with confidence while maintaining humility and respect for political opponents, elders and all stakeholders.

He urged his supporters to tell the story of the movement, present its record and vision, and allow the people to make their choice at the ballot box.

Dr. Anyaso also highlighted his previous interventions in areas including education, healthcare, youth development, humanitarian assistance and community support, stressing that his philosophy of service did not begin with political office.

“I have never believed that a person must first occupy political office before serving his people,” he said.

He therefore appealed to Ndi Bende to give him the opportunity to take his commitment to service to the National Assembly, where he said he would work towards attracting opportunities, empowering the people, supporting communities and creating pathways for young people.

While acknowledging that no leader can promise perfection, Dr. Anyaso made a commitment to remain accessible, listen to the people, be accountable and protect the trust that would be placed in him.

“I will work, I will listen, I will be accessible, I will be accountable, I will protect the trust you place in me, and by the special grace of Almighty God, I will not disappoint Ndi Bende.”

He announced that the campaign would take its message across the constituency, from community to community, ward to ward, village to village and family to family, with the objective of listening to the concerns of the people and presenting the movement’s vision for Bende.

Addressing young people, Dr. Anyaso urged them to see themselves as more than political supporters, describing them as future entrepreneurs, innovators, professionals and leaders whose ideas and aspirations must be taken seriously.

He also sought the prayers and guidance of traditional rulers, religious leaders, elders, women, fathers and other stakeholders across Bende.

Formally declaring the campaign open, Dr. Anyaso said:

“Today, the journey begins. We begin with no hatred in our hearts. We begin with faith. We begin with hope. We begin with courage. We begin with love for our people. And above all, we begin with the people.”

He reiterated that his aspiration was about leaving behind a Bende that is stronger, more united and more prosperous.

“Ndi Bende, I am ready. The OFUJI Movement is ready. And I believe Bende is ready.”

He concluded by praying for the people of Bende, the Labour Party, the OFUJI Campaign Team, Abia State and Nigeria, while appreciating his family for their support and encouragement.
