As Abia State clocks 35 years, Labour Party chieftain and Bende Federal Constituency hopeful, Dr. Chima Anyaso, has sent warm congratulations to Governor Alex Otti and all Abians, saying the last 3 years and 3 months have marked a turning point for the state.

According to Dr. Anyaso, the anniversary is more than a date on the calendar. It is a moment to take stock of Abia’s journey and to celebrate the visible change, renewed energy, and clear direction Abians are now experiencing.
He pointed to the speed and spread of infrastructure across the state as proof that Abia is reclaiming its place. Roads, urban renewal, and purposeful governance, he said, have not only reshaped towns and cities but have also restored public confidence.
“Abia at 35 wears a new look and a new spirit. The story is changing. What we see on ground today tells you that this state can stand shoulder to shoulder with the best in Nigeria.
Governor Alex Otti has shown vision and grit, and the results speak for themselves. Abia is moving, and it is moving in the right direction,” Dr. Anyaso said.
Bende is not left behind
The Bende candidate gave special praise for projects delivered and ongoing in Bende LGA, saying they show that development is reaching beyond Umuahia and Aba.
“For Bende people, we can point to real changes. Roads are opening up our communities. Movement is easier. Businesses are breathing. That is what governance should feel like.
“Development must not stop at the city gates. When rural communities get attention, the whole economy feels it. That is the kind of Abia we are building,” he noted.
Looking to 2027
Dr. Anyaso said the visible projects have strengthened trust in the Labour Party administration and boosted optimism ahead of the 2027 elections.
“The people are watching. They know the difference between talk and results.
Labour Party is ready. We will keep engaging, keep listening, and keep selling a message of development, inclusion, and accountability. By 2027, Abians will choose what they can see and feel,” he added.
A call to all Abians
He also congratulated Abians at home and in the diaspora, urging them to stay invested in the state’s progress. He described the 35th anniversary as a celebration of Abia’s resilience, enterprise, and collective spirit.
Dr. Anyaso called on government, communities, the private sector, and citizens to keep pulling together, stressing that Abia’s future will be built by shared effort.
He wished Governor Otti, the State Executive Council, members of the Abia House of Assembly, and the entire people of Abia a joyful and reflective 35th anniversary.
“35 years down, and the best is ahead. I congratulate His Excellency, Governor Alex Otti, and every Abian. May the years to come bring more prosperity, peace, and opportunities for our people,” Dr. Anyaso concluded.
