A socio-political group, Abia North Peace Foundation has issued a robust rebuttal to a recent gathering convened at the residence of Chief Chima Agbaeze in Isuikwuato, which was styled as a “Committee of Friends” meeting under the guise of the so-called “Coalition for Equity and Justice in Abia North”.
In a statement signed by Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu (Director-General) and Pastor Caleb Kalu Awa (Assistant Secretary), the Foundation condemned the meeting as a politically motivated charade, orchestrated by individuals bent on discrediting the person and ambition of Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu.
Describing the meeting as a “political masquerade,” the Foundation lambasted Chief Chima Agbaeze as “an infamous local champion known for sycophancy and propaganda,” alleging that he acts at the behest of a desperate political actor who has lost both relevance and credibility.
The Foundation challenged the moral standing of the so-called equity campaigners, reminding the public that the Isuikwuato/Umunneochi axis occupied the Abia North Senate seat for a combined sixteen years; four under General Ike Nwachukwu and twelve under Comrade Uche Chukwumerije, without any agitation from the present crusaders of “rotation” or “justice”.
“In comparison, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has served for just eight years, yet he has brought an unprecedented level of development, federal presence, and national recognition to Abia North,” the statement read.
“From roads and schools to scholarships, employment, and legislative competence, his record stands head and shoulders above all past occupants of the seat.”
The Foundation asserted that the Senate seat is not a ceremonial token to be passed around like a village masquerade costume, but a mandate that must be earned through performance, capacity, and the democratic will of the people.
As the 2027 elections approach, the Foundation expressed confidence that the people of Abia North will not be swayed by “shrine loyalists and pseudo-activists” peddling falsehood and blackmail.
“No amount of propaganda or orchestrated outrage can erase Senator Kalu’s legacy or halt the forward march of democracy,” the group stated.
“We stand firmly behind Senator Orji Uzor Kalu and urge the general public to dismiss the noise from Isuikwuato disguised as a call for justice. The true injustice lies in letting desperation pose as equity.”
