A viral video has shown the moment a magistrate court fined a lady for not keeping to the parts of the bargain after receiving the sum of N150,000 from a man.
In a count charge read out by the magistrate court judge, the lady simply identified as Jennifer was ordered to pay a sum of N450k to Emmanuel as fine for not showing up after receiving the sum from the latter as a transportation fare.
According to reports, Jennifer agreed to visit Emmanuel, she demanded a transport fare which Emmanuel sent to her. However, Jennifer failed to show up and refused to refund the money, which Emmanuel took her to court.
During the trial, the Magistrate Court judge ordered Jennifer to pay Emmanuel a fine of N450k for her refusal to refund him after failure to visit him as agreed by both parties.
“I hereby ordered Jennifer to pay Emmanuel a fine of N450,000 for failing to keep to the promise or risk 7 years in prison”, the Magistrate court judge said.
“This will serve as a warning to other ladies to stop extorting men in the name of transportation fare,” the judge concluded.
