The Aba Landlords Protection and Development Association ALPADA has lauded the Abia State Government for re-appointing its emeritus leader, Chief Alphonsus Udeigbo, as the President of the Abia State Markets Amalgamated Traders Association (ASMATA).
The umbrella body of Aba landed property owners described the re-appointment as a testimonial to the sterling leadership qualities, proven integrity and commitment of the immediate past president-general of ALPADA.
Engr. Leonard Onyemesiri, Bro. Chidi Umeh and Comrade Leonard Ilodiuba, who are President-General, Secretary-General and Public Relations Officer of ALPADA respectively, in a In a congratulatory message jointly issued by them expressed deep appreciation to the Abia State Government for the recognition and honour shown to its former president and indefatigable leader of over ten years’ standing.
Particularly, the ALPADA leadership expressed profound gratitude to the Honourable Commissioner for Trade and Commerce Dr Mrs Salome Obiukwu for the confidence and trust reposed in the Chief Udeigbo-led ASMATA leadership.
This is as the Landlords Association pledged its continued unalloyed commitment and loyalty to the ongoing efforts by the Governor Alex Otti administration in repositioning and transforming Abia State.
The Association is assured of its readiness and commitment towards collaborating with all relevant stakeholders in the onerous task of ensuring that the massive transformation of Abia State stretches beyond 2027.

It would be recalled that the Chief Udeigbo-led ASMATA leadership was inaugurated for a second term in office on Thursday, March 26, 2026, by the Commissioner for Trade and Commerce at the Ministry’s headquarters in Umuahia.
According to the commissioner, their re-appointment was based on the trust and confidence reposed in them by the state government.
Meanwhile, the leadership of ALPADA has appointed Chief Udeigbo as its President-On Special Duty in recognition of his immense contributions to the formation, growth and progress of the association in the last ten years.
In the letter of appointment dated March 21, 2026, and endorsed by Onyemesiri and Umeh, President and Secretary respectively, ALPADA charged Chief Udeigbo to leverage the position to interface with appropriate authorities, including the Governor, government officials and others in attracting dividends of democracy to the Association.
ALPADA also expressed the confidence that Chief Udeigbo will project the challenges facing the association, as well as assist in getting the government to lend a helping hand where necessary.
“Sir, we witnessed your contributions and performances in the last ten years to the progress of ALPADA when you were the president-general.
“You elevated ALPDA to greater heights in Aba and environs. Your appointment was therefore based on merit,” the letter partly reads.
