Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Federal Constituency, has extended warm greetings to Nigerian workers in commemoration of the 2026 Workers’ Day, applauding their resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions to national development.
In a statement marking the annual celebration, the former Abia State governor praised the unwavering commitment of workers across various sectors, noting that their daily efforts remain the backbone of Nigeria’s growth and stability.
He paid tribute to professionals including teachers, healthcare workers, security personnel, civil servants, entrepreneurs, and artisans, acknowledging the sacrifices they make despite prevailing economic and social challenges.
“The strength of any nation lies in the productivity, determination, and patriotism of its workforce,” Kalu stated, emphasizing that Nigeria continues to thrive due to the perseverance and belief of its citizens in a better future.

The senator encouraged workers to remain steadfast and committed to excellence, expressing optimism that the country would overcome its challenges through unity, hard work, and purposeful leadership.
Kalu also used the opportunity to call on governments and employers at all levels to prioritize policies that enhance workers’ welfare, dignity, and opportunities for growth, stressing the need for a more supportive and enabling environment for the workforce.
