Prominent entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has challenged men to look beyond material wealth and prioritize moral character, declaring that values remain the greatest legacy any individual can pass on to the next generation.
Dr. Anyaso, who is also the CEO of CAADES Group, delivered the charge as the guest minister during the 2026 Father’s Day Celebration hosted by the Living Spring Parish Men’s Christian Association (MCA) of the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria.
The high-profile service took place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Church Auditorium in Ehimiri, Umuahia, under the scriptural theme “Men of Extravagant Grace” (John 1:16), presided over by Rt. Rev. Johnson Kalu.
Addressing a packed auditorium of fathers, youths, and community leaders, Dr. Anyaso noted that while society socializes men to prioritize leaving behind tangible assets like buildings, businesses, or millions of dollars for their offspring, these items ultimately take a backseat to spiritual and personal integrity.
“Every man will leave something behind,” Anyaso stated during his sermon. “The question is not whether you will leave a legacy. The question is what kind of legacy will you leave?”
He emphasized that grand public titles—such as “His Excellency,” “Honorable,” “Reverend Father,” or “Doctor”—alongside multi-million dollar asset portfolios are eventually forgotten by history. Instead, what remains indelible is the direct impact an individual makes on the lives of others and how they treated fellow human beings.
He also cautioned fathers against letting blind political or group loyalty distort their moral clarity, warning that such associations can turn a “beautiful, white world” dark.
Drawing from his own past, Dr. Anyaso shared personal anecdotes regarding the intense societal pressures he faced as a young man growing up in Nigeria, crediting his early upbringing for anchoring his desire to maintain a straightforward life.
Reflecting on his university days when secret cults like the Buccaneers and Black Axe (popularly known as the Fine Boys or Bye Boys) aggressively recruited on campuses, Anyaso revealed that he faced heavy pressure to join. He explained humorously that cult recruitment parameters often evaluated how “hazard”—or tough and rugged—a potential recruit was. Being a particularly tall student, he fit the physical profile recruiters looked for.
However, Dr. Anyaso stated that a practical, divine premonition kept him from making a fatal mistake. “The Spirit of God just ministered to my mind and said: ‘You are too tall. When they shoot stray bullets, it will hit you first,'” he recalled, prompting laughter from the congregation. This acute realization of vulnerability caused him to avoid the groups entirely.
He further illustrated the importance of ethical values by detailing his early career timeline. After graduating from the university at approximately 23 years of age, he secured a major corporate role and achieved financial success.
He observed that while many of his peers succumbed to the peer pressure of “419” (advance-fee cyber fraud) which was heavily prevalent across the country at the time, his foundation in strong values kept his business trajectory completely legitimate.
Following his address, Dr. Anyaso led an emotional Father’s Day prayer session aimed at strengthening the heads of households facing economic or personal shortcomings.
Anyaso prayed for a divine transfer of the grace operating over his life into the lives of struggling fathers:
“…who is lacking in any way, I pray that the grace that is upon my life will be transferred in multiple folds to that man, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Have your way, peaceful Father, and let only your name be glorified. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray. Amen.”
The event concluded with high praises and a renewed charge to the fathers of the Living Spring Parish to lead their homes through exemplary character, leaving behind legacies built on institutional trust, community philanthropy, and timeless values.
