A new 55-room hotel, ORIS Signature Hotel, has officially opened on Okigwe Road in Aba, adding a major hospitality facility to the commercial city’s growing investment landscape.
The hotel was commissioned by Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, who described the project as a significant addition to Aba’s hospitality and investment sector.
The opening of ORIS Signature Hotel comes amid increasing private-sector investments in Aba, with the city witnessing new developments across different sectors as businesses and investors respond to improvements in infrastructure and the broader business environment.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Otti commended the Chief Executive Officer of ORIS Signature Hotel, Owelle Greg Okafor, for delivering the project within two years and a few months.
The governor said the completion of the hotel demonstrated what could be achieved when private enterprise, vision and a conducive business environment come together.
According to Otti, Aba has undergone significant changes since his administration assumed office, particularly in infrastructure and the business environment.
“When we assumed office, Aba faced significant challenges, including poor road infrastructure and struggling industries. Today, the story is changing, with businesses returning, property values rising and new investments taking shape,” the governor said.
Otti Invites Investors Back to Aba
The governor used the occasion to invite investors who previously relocated from Abia, as well as prospective investors, to return and explore opportunities in the state.
Otti said his administration was creating an environment capable of supporting businesses and encouraging fresh investments, adding that the developments recorded so far represented only the beginning.
He also highlighted the expected completion of the Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel as another major hospitality project that would further strengthen Aba’s position as an economic centre.
“With more projects, including the soon-to-be-completed Radisson Blu Enyimba Hotel, Aba will continue to grow as a major economic hub,” he said.
ORIS Signature Hotel Adds to Aba’s Growing Hospitality Sector
The opening of the 55-room ORIS Signature Hotel provides additional accommodation and hospitality capacity in Aba, a city widely recognised for its commercial and industrial activities.
The new facility is also coming at a time when Aba is attracting renewed attention from private investors, with developments in hospitality, real estate, infrastructure and other areas contributing to the changing outlook of the city.
At the commissioning ceremony, Otti acknowledged guests, friends and well-wishers who attended the event and commended those supporting the growth and transformation of Aba and Abia State.
He congratulated Okafor and the entire ORIS Signature Hotel team on the completion of the project.
The governor said continued collaboration between the government and private sector would help create more opportunities for businesses and investments to thrive in Abia.
For Aba, the opening of ORIS Signature Hotel represents another addition to the city’s expanding hospitality infrastructure and a further indication of the growing private-sector activity taking place across the commercial hub.
