A cross-section of stakeholders from Abia State have congratulated Chief Nnanna Uzor Kalu on his swearing-in today by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a Commissioner representing the South East in the National Assembly Service Commission (NASC), describing the appointment as a recognition of merit and competence.
In a joint statement signed on behalf of the stakeholders by elder statesman Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu and Pastor Caleb Kalu Awa, the group expressed delight over Kalu’s elevation, noting that his commitment to national development and administrative excellence makes him a perfect fit for the sensitive role.
The statement was endorsed by a coalition of Abia citizens, including prominent businessmen, legal practitioners, community leaders, youth and women groups, all of whom praised President Tinubu for what they called a “well-considered and inclusive” appointment.
“We are proud of Chief Nnanna Uzor Kalu’s appointment and swearing-in today by President Tinubu. It is a moment of great pride for Abia and a strong indication that hard work and dedication are still recognised at the highest levels of government,” the statement read.
They commended President Tinubu for his continued commitment to equity, inclusiveness, and national unity, pointing out that the appointment reflects the President’s desire to build strong national institutions through capable and experienced hands.
The National Assembly Service Commission is the statutory body responsible for the recruitment, promotion, and discipline of staff of the National Assembly, playing a vital role in the smooth running of the federal legislature.
As he assumes duties, stakeholders urged Kalu to bring his wealth of experience, discipline, and integrity to bear on the Commission’s operations and continue to make Abia proud through exemplary service.
