The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has listed out some of the projects he attracted to his constituency since he became a federal lawmaker.
Hon. Kalu, who appeared on TVC Know Your Representatives, anchored by Mariah Olasehinde, on Saturday, said he only focused on delivering impactful community oriented projects to his constituency.
“I want history to record that I served passionately and gave my best.
“The people are my employers, and they will decide my future,” Kalu said.
The lawmaker disclosed plans to push for improved constituency project funding to enable lawmakers deliver more impactful community projects.
“Growing up in Bende exposed me to the challenges of rural life, poor roads, lack of clean water, and inadequate healthcare.
“That is why I focus on community-oriented projects,” he said.
The deputy speaker said his vision was to make rural living easier and stimulate local economies through the provision of roads, schools, water, and healthcare facilities.
He explained that he regularly holds town hall meetings with traditional rulers, students, market women, and community leaders to assess progress and set new priorities.
“Everyone deserves attention, even those who didn’t vote for me,” Kalu added, stressing that his leadership style is built on inclusivity and transparency.
