In Bende, Abia State, there’s a quiet story that says a lot about priorities, legacy, and what it really means to give back.
About 18 years ago, Dr. Chima Anyaso made a decision that still speaks today. At just 28, while many of his peers were focused on building personal mansions or sending their children abroad, he chose a different path. He built the Ahuoma Anyaso Education Free Nursery and Primary School right in his hometown.
This wasn’t a publicity move. It was a long-term investment in people.
The school was created to give children from less privileged backgrounds access to quality early education without the burden of fees. Nearly two decades later, it’s still doing exactly that, quietly shaping young lives, opening doors, and giving kids a fair shot.
What stands out even more is how personal this commitment is. Dr. Anyaso didn’t build the school and walk away. From time to time, his own children attend the same local village school, learning and growing alongside other kids in the community.
