A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and an aspirant for the Imo State House of Assembly seat representing Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency has reportedly reacted angrily after the party handed the ticket to another candidate ahead of the forthcoming election.
In a video obtained by AbaCityBloq, the visibly upset aspirant was seen expressing frustration over what he described as an unfair disqualification process by the party leadership.
Although the identity of the aspirant has not been revealed, the man accused the party of sidelining him and other hopefuls despite the huge amount of money they allegedly spent during the screening and nomination process.
According to him, the APC leadership ignored aspirants who actively campaigned and worked for the ticket, only to hand it over to another candidate whom he claimed did not contest for the State Assembly position from the beginning.
Displaying documents believed to be nomination forms in the video, the aspirant alleged that he spent over N10 million in the course of pursuing the ticket.
“Here is the form I purchased. I bought this one for N7 million, this one for N1 million, plus other money the party extorted from me at the party secretariat in Owerri,” he said.

The aggrieved aspirant further claimed that several other contenders were also disqualified after spending heavily on forms and other party-related expenses.
AbaCityBloq gathered that the APC ticket for Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency was eventually awarded to Hon. Doris Anyanwu, who is now the party’s flag bearer for the constituency in the coming election.
The aspirant, however, vowed not to accept the outcome, insisting that the process was unjust.
“I will not take this. I understand that the party is supreme, but why didn’t the party find any of us worthy after spending so much money? Why did they give it to someone who was campaigning for Federal House?” he queried.
The development has continued to generate reactions among party supporters and political observers in Imo State, especially as preparations intensify ahead of the elections.
