Residents of Alayi, Ugwueke, Umuhu, Ozuitem, Uzuakoli And mkpa-umuimenyi wards in bende have continued to reap the rewards of Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso’s various 18 years of sustained philanthropy, as the Chima Anyaso Foundation’s ongoing sight outreach entered its third and fourth day with massive participation.
The outreach, organised by the Chima Anyaso Foundation in collaboration with the Rebirth Ministry and Precious Sight Foundation, and in partnership with the Abia State Government, drew large crowds of beneficiaries, including elderly men and women, young adults, and children seeking free eye care services.
The programme underscored what residents described as a long-standing commitment to improving lives through regular humanitarian interventions.

From the early hours of Day 3 &4, the exercise took on the atmosphere of a community celebration. Buses provided by the foundation conveyed residents to the outreach centre, with beneficiaries singing and expressing excitement along the way. At the venue, medical personnel and volunteers worked tirelessly to assess patients, provide treatment, and recommend further care where necessary.
Many participants expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that the outreach has become a dependable source of hope for individuals battling vision-related challenges. For several families, the intervention offered not just medical relief but renewed optimism, particularly for those who had endured prolonged eye conditions without access to proper care.

Representatives of the Chima Anyaso Foundation reiterated that the outreach forms part of a broader legacy of consistent philanthropic efforts spanning 18 years. They noted that the foundation remains focused on delivering practical, life-changing interventions, especially in underserved communities.
According to the organisers, the Day 3 /4 activities further reinforced the foundation’s commitment to addressing critical eye health needs while enhancing the quality of life for beneficiaries across the constituency.

The outreach programme is scheduled to continue Till Friday, with 2 more wards expected to benefit. Wards listed for subsequent phases include Bende, and Itumbauzo.
