OBI Aba Care Foundation today flagged-off the first phase of distribution of fifty thousand educational materials to basic and junior schools in Aba.
The non-profit organization founded by Hon. Nwaobilor Ananaba, the Honourable commissioner for Youths and Sports, distributed writing materials to schools in Aba South.
Joining the members of his foundation, Hon. Ananaba who spoke to the press during the programme, said the outreach is to support Governor Alex Otti’s free educational programme in the State, which he said has yield good results.

Hon. Ananaba who commended the governor for his free educational programme in Abia, said education is the bedrock of every society and Governor Otti has made a giant stride by allocating 20% of the State budget to education.
According to him, it’s the main purpose his foundation has decided to support the governor by sharing writing materials to students Aba North and South.
“We are here today to share educational materials (exercise books and pencils) to the basic and junior schools in Aba to support governor Alex Otti in his free educational initiative.
“We started the first phase of the distribution at New Umuahia Umuoba School in Ogbor hill Aba, we have also distributed the writing materials to Boys Technical College (BTC), Osusu community school, Eziama Community Primary School, Azuokpoaja Primary and Secondary School, etc, the commissioner said.
The commissioner was joined by Hon. Obioha Akomas, Councillor representing Osusu Ward 4 and other members of his foundation.

The Commissioner said the outreach which kick-started in Aba South will also get to schools in Aba North, adding that more educational equipment will be distributed to other schools in Aba.
