Road rehabilitation has officially commenced in parts of Bende Federal Constituency following the arrival of heavy equipment to the area, in what supporters are calling the “OFUJI’s Caterpillar Revolution.”
The intervention is being spearheaded by Dr. Chima Anyaso, a prominent philanthropist and 2027 House of Representatives hopeful for Bende Federal Constituency. Community members gathered on Tuesday as the caterpillar moved in to begin grading and rehabilitation work on key rural roads that have deteriorated over the years.
According to residents, the move marks another phase of Dr. Anyaso’s community-driven initiatives outside elected office. For years he has been involved in humanitarian interventions across Bende, ranging from education support to healthcare outreach.
“While many make promises, OFUJI continues to deliver visible impact,” a community leader at the site said. “This road work will help our farmers get produce to market, our children get to school, and our sick get to hospital faster.”
Dr. Anyaso has consistently described his approach to leadership as service first. The ongoing road rehabilitation is being presented as evidence of that commitment, and as a sign of what representation could look like if he is elected to the House of Representatives in 2027.
Political observers note that infrastructure projects like this often resonate deeply at the grassroots, where bad roads directly affect daily life and the local economy. With the 2027 elections still some distance away, the early delivery of tangible projects is positioning Dr. Anyaso as a candidate focused on action over rhetoric.
As the caterpillar continues work across targeted routes, residents say they are watching closely — hopeful that this is the start of sustained development for Bende.
