The Abia State governor, Alex Otti has directed all auto mechanics and spare parts dealers in Aba to relocate to Ovom Industrial mechanic cluster.
In a statement on Friday, signed by the Honourable Commissioner, Ministry of Industry and SMEs, the governor reminded those affected that the grace period granted to them elapsed on May 2025.
The state government said the mechanics and auto spare parts dealers operating along School/Clifford Road, Hospital Road, Jubilee Road, and Azikiwe Road in Aba North, Aba South and Obingwa LGAs are directed to relocate to the Ovom Industrial Mechanic Cluster, Ogbor Hill, on or before 15th October 2025.
According to the statement, the directive aims to decongest Aba metropolis and ensure a safer, organized, and business-friendly environment for all.
Dealers are strongly advised to comply before the deadline, as enforcement will commence thereafter.
