Former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has congratulated Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his coronation as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
In a statement on Friday, Kalu, who is the lawmaker representing Abia North Senatorial District and the Ashipa Seriki Mayegun of Ibadanland, a title he received in 1993, described Oba Ladoja as a statesman and visionary leader whose reign will further strengthen unity, peace, and development in Ibadanland, Oyo State, and Nigeria at large.
He commended the traditional institution for preserving cultural heritage, noting that Oba Ladoja’s elevation is a recognition of his wisdom, service, and commitment to the people.
“Oba Ladoja has distinguished himself as a politician and elder statesman. His coronation as the Olubadan of Ibadanland marks a new era for the city and its people. I am confident that his leadership will foster harmony and progress,” Kalu said.
On behalf of his family and the good people of Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Kalu extended his heartfelt felicitations to the new monarch, praying that his reign would be peaceful and prosperous.
He further noted that Nigeria’s democracy continues to benefit from leaders like Oba Ladoja, who have combined political experience with a deep respect for tradition and culture.
Senator Kalu also expressed optimism that the Olubadan will continue to serve as a bridge-builder, promoting unity not only among the people of Oyo State but across Nigeria as a whole.
