Mr. Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology under the administration of President Tinubu has resigned his position.
Nnaji resigned today in a letter addressed to the President, thanking President Tinubu for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
AbaCityBlog recalled that Minister Uche Nnaji was accused of forging his University and NYSC certificates, a crime which was reported by online media and response from the School which he claimed to have attended showed the minister might have forged his certificate.
However, in a letter addressed to President Tinubu on Tuesday, Minister Uche Nnaji, who held sway the ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology thank President Tinubu for finding him worthy of appointing him in the position to serve Nigerians.
Nnaji said the allegation of forgery was orchestrated by his political opponents to blackmail him.
The full letter released by the Presidency acknowledging Nnaji’s resignation letter, reads:
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him.
“President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
“He resigned today in a letter thanking the President for allowing him to serve Nigeria.
“Nnaji said he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.
“President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.
