A Nollywood script writer, Ezeh Val, has revealed reason he stopped writing movie script showcasing money rituals.
Mr. Val, a script writer in a post on X said he stopped writing ritual movie scripts when he noticed that people are taking the drama out of context. He noted that because of the ritual movies, people started seeing wealthy Igbo men as ritualist.
“I stopped writing movie script that portraits Igbo men as ritualist when I noticed that some of my movies contributes heavily to the damages done to our race as Igbos”, Eze said.
He revealed that, although, a lot of producers pleaded with him to write more of ritual movie scripts for them, but he had to turn down the offers even after they offered him huge money.
“So many producers tried to plead with me to write ritual movie for them after that but I insist that I will never do it again even with the huge amount of money offered”
“It was fun initially telling fiction and imaginary stories but I noticed that I was making people that truly do not know our people perceive my Igbo brothers that hustle genuinely and make their money as ritualist.” Eze concluded.

AbaCityBlog recalled that ritual movies sell so much as many movie lovers binged on it. While the movies sell so much, it also has its own negative effects on society as most of its actors are Igbo.
Also, while the movies are fiction, the damage it has done to society cannot be quantified with the good.
