Awka, Anambra State — The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO), Anambra State Branch, in its role as the people’s watchdog, has commended the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, for the reappointment of Prof. Affornze Amaucheazi SAN as Honourable Commissioner for Lands.
In a press statement issued today in Awka and signed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme AMBP-UN, Chairman, and Comrade Chidi Mbah, Secretary, CLO described the reappointment as a clear acknowledgment of merit, dedication, and impactful public service.
CLO noted that Prof. Amaucheazi’s first tenure marked a turning point in the administration of lands in Anambra State. Under his leadership, the Ministry of Lands underwent significant reformation and transformation that directly improved citizens’ experience and restored trust in government institutions.
The organization highlighted several achievements:
- Dismantling Bureaucratic Bottlenecks: Prof. Amaucheazi streamlined processes that had long hindered land transactions, cutting red tape and reducing delays for citizens and investors.
- Restoring Public Confidence: Through transparency and accountability, the Ministry regained credibility among stakeholders, including landowners, developers, and legal practitioners.
- Institutionalizing Accessibility: He introduced an open-door policy that removed the need for prior appointments to see the Commissioner. This culture of accessibility, responsiveness, and mutual respect has become a defining feature of the Ministry.
- Curbing Land Fraud and Litigation: CLO observed a measurable decline in land speculation, multiple sales of the same property, disputes, and resulting litigation since Prof. Amaucheazi assumed office.
“Professor Amaucheazi has etched his name in the hearts of both Ministry staff and the general public through a rare work ethic and selfless servant leadership,” the statement read. “He stands out as a patriot, moral compass, and selfless leader whose conduct reflects the highest standards of integrity.”
CLO emphasized that the reappointment sends a strong signal that diligence and results matter in governance. It reflects Governor Soludo’s commitment to placing competent and principled individuals in positions of responsibility for the benefit of Ndi Anambra.
