The Abia State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as “strategic and merit-based” appointments of prominent Abia indigenes into key national positions.
In a statement issued by the Acting Publicity Secretary Prince Ifeanyi Igwe Esq on Tuesday the party commended the President for appointing the State APC Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Ononogbu, as Chairman of the National Park Service, and for the nomination of former Abia State Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Obinna Oriaku, as well as Mr. Peter Eze Special Assistant to the incumbent Abia North Senator Orji Uzor Kalu as Commissioners in the Federal Character Commission.
“These appointments stand as a testament to Mr. President’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people of Abia State,” the statement read. “We firmly believe that these selections are predicated on merit, competence, and dedication to national service.”
The party also expressed deep appreciation to Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, and Minister of State for Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejiocha, describing them as “insightful leaders” whose influence and contributions have significantly impacted Bende, Abia North, and the entire state.
Reaffirming its readiness for the 2027 governorship race, APC Abia declared that it remains “resolute, formidable, and united,” and is determined to deliver the mandate of President Tinubu in the state, with a vision for “a more prosperous and progressive future for both Abia and Nigeria.”
