Car belonging to the Benue State government were spotted last night allegedly escorting herds of cows in Makurdi.
The video was recorded by a resident who condemned the act, stressing that despite the killings going in the parts of Benue, the State government still provide protection to the Fulani Herdsmen.

AbaCityBlog reports that about 200 people were killed two night ago , June 14th, in Yelewata, a part of Benue State by suspected Fulani Herdsmen.
Although, no party has taken credit for the killing, however, eyewitnesses say the attackers shouted “Allahu Akbar” as they carried out the massacre.

Benue State has been facing the issue of herdsmen attack, many lives has been wasted and the government, both the State and Federal seems to be helpless to curtail the killings and bring the perpetrators to justice.

President Tinubu Condemns The Killing
In its statement, the President, Bola Tinubu said he had directed the security agencies to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The President said now is the time for the Benue State governor, Alia to get to work and curb the Killings.
His statement read:
“I have been briefed on the senseless bloodletting in Benue State.
“Enough is enough! I have directed the security agencies to act decisively, arrest perpetrators of these evil acts on all sides of the conflict, and prosecute them.
“Political and community leaders in Benue State must act responsibly and avoid inflammatory utterances that could further increase tensions and killings.
“This is the time for Governor Alia to act as a statesman and immediately lead the process of dialogue and reconciliation that will bring peace to Benue.
“Our people must live in peace, and it is possible when leaders across the divides work together in harmony and differences are identified and addressed with fairness, openness and justice.
