COSEYL Congratulates Senator Orji Kalu On His Resounding Victory In Abia North APC Senatorial Primary

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL), the apex sociopolitical youth organization in the South East geopolitical zone, heartily congratulates Distinguished Senator Orji Uzor Kalu on his overwhelming and well-deserved victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) Senatorial Primary Election for Abia North Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Senator Kalu’s landslide victory, where he secured 65,651 votes against his challenger’s 2,103 votes, is a clear demonstration of the confidence, trust, and overwhelming acceptance he enjoys among the people of Abia North Senatorial District. The result is not merely an electoral triumph but a loud endorsement of purposeful leadership, impactful representation, and transformational service delivery.

COSEYL, in a statement signed by its President General, Comrade Goodluck Ibem, notes with great satisfaction that the people of Abia North have once again demonstrated appreciation for Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s life-touching projects, people-oriented programmes, and numerous developmental initiatives that have positively transformed communities across the senatorial zone.

Without doubt, Senator Kalu’s representation at the National Assembly has remained exceptional, visible, and impactful. His contributions towards infrastructure development, youth empowerment, education, rural electrification, industrialization, agriculture, and economic advancement have distinguished him as one of the most effective lawmakers in Nigeria today.

The massive construction and rehabilitation of roads across communities in Arochukwu, Ohafia, Bende, Isuikwuato, and Umunneochi Local Government Areas have significantly improved transportation, enhanced commercial activities, and boosted economic growth within the zone.

Equally commendable are the rural electrification projects and installation of solar-powered street lights across numerous communities which have improved security and stimulated businesses in both rural and urban areas.

We are particularly impressed by Senator Kalu’s empowerment programmes which have directly impacted thousands of youths, women, artisans, traders, and farmers through the distribution of grants, motorcycles, tricycles, sewing machines, generators, laptops, and agricultural inputs. These empowerment initiatives have helped reduce unemployment, promote self-reliance, and improve livelihoods across Abia North.

His commitment to education through scholarships, bursaries, renovation of schools, and construction of classroom blocks further demonstrates his unwavering dedication to human capital development and the future of the younger generation.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on South East Development Commission (SEDC) and a strategic leader in the South East, Senator Kalu has continued to attract critical federal projects and investments to the South East region, thereby contributing immensely to regional development and economic growth.

This overwhelming victory is therefore a reward for hard work, accessibility, quality representation, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
