Former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, has introduced members of the Great Lekki-Ikoyi Fitness Club (Igboezue) to the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration between the club and the Lagos State Government.
Kalu disclosed that the meeting took place in Lagos in a warm and cordial atmosphere, providing members of the club with an opportunity to engage directly with the state’s deputy governor, who is also the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.

According to the senator, the Great Lekki Ikoyi Fitness Club is made up predominantly of industrious South-Eastern residents living in Lagos, reflecting the strong contribution of the region’s people to the state’s economic and social development.
He described the interaction as memorable, noting that it highlighted the importance of unity, collaboration and inclusive participation in nation-building.

Kalu expressed optimism about building a stronger relationship between the fitness club and the Lagos State Government, anchored on mutual respect, shared progress and prosperity for all residents.

The lawmaker reiterated the need for partnerships that promote social cohesion and strengthen ties between communities, adding that such engagements remain essential to fostering national unity and inclusive development.
