Members of the Desmond Chimaobi Anyaso Movement (DCA), a grassroots political group backing Governor Alex Chioma Otti and Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, popularly called Ofuji, for the 2027 elections, paid a solidarity visit to Dr. Anyaso at his country home over the weekend.
The visit was to formally inform Dr. Anyaso of the group’s existence and to reaffirm their commitment to his House of Representatives bid for Bende Federal Constituency, and to Governor Otti’s re-election bid.
According to the Bende LGA Coordinator of DCA, Engr. Prince Okey Kalu, the movement was formed independently by admirers of Dr. Anyaso’s leadership and humanitarian work.

“We did not consult Dr. Chimaobi Anyaso before forming this movement,” Engr. Kalu said. “We came today simply to inform him that this organization exists because of our conviction that he possesses the capacity, compassion, and competence to represent the people effectively. Our support is voluntary and driven by our desire to see him emerge victorious in 2027.”
He noted that the group was not commissioned or mobilized by Dr. Anyaso, but came together out of belief in his vision for purposeful representation.

Speaking for the delegation, members praised Dr. Anyaso for his philanthropy, accessibility, and commitment to community development across Bende and beyond.
They also commended his consistent support for the governance agenda of Governor Alex Chioma Otti in Abia State, describing it as transformative.
Deputy Mayor of Bende LGA, Hon. Mrs. Ngozi Sandra Anya, who also spoke at the event, applauded DCA for adopting Dr. Anyaso as its preferred candidate for the 2027 House of Representatives race. She urged members to stay united and focused on grassroots mobilization for both Governor Otti and Dr. Anyaso.
Responding, Dr. Anyaso thanked the movement for their goodwill and selfless support. He described the visit as proof of genuine belief in a shared vision for a better Bende and a more prosperous Abia.
He specifically commended the group for organizing without seeking financial inducement, saying such voluntary participation strengthens grassroots democracy.
Dr. Anyaso charged them to continue supporting Governor Otti’s administration and to intensify voter mobilization ahead of 2027. He assured that every lawful vote would count and must be protected through peaceful participation and vigilance.
The DCA Movement positions itself as a support base working to consolidate Governor Otti’s administration and to push Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso’s candidacy for Bende Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The meeting ended with members renewing their pledge to step up grassroots mobilization across Bende LGA in support of both leaders.
