The argument that a third term is unprecedented in Abia North falls flat when viewed against the legacy of the late Senator Uche Chukwumerije.
Representing Abia North from 2003 until his death in 2015, Chukwumerije served three consecutive terms, totaling 12 years in the Senate. His tenure was marked by ideological conviction and consistent representation, setting a precedent that validates OUK’s ambition.

• Deputy Governorship: Ohafia has produced two consecutive Deputy Governors with a combined 12-year tenure.
• Federal Representation: The current House of Representatives member for Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency is from Ohafia.
• State Leadership: Ohafia has also produced Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the Abia State House of Assembly.
• Federal Appointments: Figures like the late Chief Ojo Maduekwe held multiple federal roles, including Minister of Foreign Affairs and Nigerian Ambassador to Canada.
These facts dismantle any claims of marginalization and highlight Ohafia’s deep-rooted influence in Abia’s political structure.

• Infrastructure Projects: Roads such as the Ebem, Asaga, Ndi Ibe, Amuma, Okon, Amangwu Ohafia axis have been rehabilitated under his watch.
• Education: Over 50 schools have been renovated or constructed across Ohafia LGA.
• Electrification and Empowerment: Communities like Nkporo Okwe and Abiriba have benefited from electricity projects and youth empowerment programs.

In the Senate, seniority matters. A ranking senator like OUK holds:

Justice for Ohafia is not about rotating seats,it’s about ensuring the best representation for all. With a legacy of strategic leadership, a record of developmental impact, and a precedent set by Senator Chukwumerije, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu’s third-term ambition is not only justified, it is necessary.
Abia North must choose continuity, competence, and credibility. And in that equation, OUK remains the most qualified, tested, and trusted candidate.
