The Civil Liberties Organization, Anambra State Branch, has commended the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Senator Dr. Tony Nwoye, for facilitating numerous development projects across the zone, particularly in road construction and rehabilitation.
The organization singled out the ongoing reconstruction of the strategic but long-abandoned Bida Road, which leads to the popular Onitsha Main Market, describing it as “glaring and cheering news” for residents, commuters, and traders.
“It will be recalled that CLO has severally appealed to relevant authorities to reconstruct the deplorable and decrepit road that had become nightmarish to commuters, residents and visitors,” the statement read. “The road caused loss of time, wear and tear of vehicles, discomfort, and high cost of transportation, among others.”
“To the glory of God, Senator Nwoye has hearkened to the cries, agony and pains of the citizens by embarking on reconstruction of the road.”
The press statement, themed “A Leader is engraved in the hearts of people through being fanatic to their welfare and interest,” was signed by Evangelist Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, AMBP-UN, Chairman, and Comrade Chidi Mbah, Secretary.

CLO further appealed to Senator Nwoye to share the “secret of his success and impactful servant leadership” with his colleagues at the National Assembly. The group noted that if other members of the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly followed his example, “the state will be turned into a construction site and the issue of bad roads will be eliminated.”
The organization urged all political office holders to emulate Senator Nwoye’s “patriotism, diligence, selflessness, love, courage, empathy and compassion” in order to actualize the Anambra State of citizens’ dreams, hopes and aspirations.
CLO also congratulated Senator Nwoye on his elevation to Minority Whip in the Senate, describing it as recognition of his “unwavering commitment and remarkable achievements.”
