Sen. Kalu Hails Sokoto Governor’s Infrastructure Drive at Arkilla Roads Commissioning

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, representing Abia North Senatorial District, has lauded Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu for his commitment to infrastructure development following the commissioning of the Arkilla Roads Network in Sokoto State.

Kalu, a former governor of Abia State, made the commendation after participating in the inauguration of the road project, which he described as a major milestone in the state’s efforts to improve transportation and accelerate economic growth.

According to the senator, the Arkilla Roads Network reflects Governor Aliyu’s dedication to delivering impactful projects that enhance connectivity, open up communities and create opportunities for development.

He noted that quality infrastructure remains a vital catalyst for economic expansion, social progress and improved living standards, stressing that investments in roads and other public facilities are essential for sustainable development.

“The project reflects the governor’s commitment to improving transportation, opening up communities and creating opportunities for economic growth and development,” Kalu said.

The former Chief Whip of the Senate also expressed delight at sharing the occasion with former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, whose administration, he said, made significant contributions to the development of the state.

Kalu praised Wamakko’s leadership and acknowledged his role in laying the foundation for many of the developmental initiatives currently being pursued in Sokoto.

He further commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for prioritising people-centred governance and implementing projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the state.

The senator described the road network as a remarkable achievement that would not only ease transportation challenges but also stimulate commerce, attract investment and support socio-economic development in the region.

He congratulated the Sokoto State Government and its people on the successful completion of the project, expressing optimism that the infrastructure would contribute significantly to the state’s continued growth and prosperity.

The Arkilla Roads Network is expected to improve mobility within the area, facilitate economic activities and enhance access to key communities, further strengthening Sokoto State’s development agenda.
