The Annual General Meeting of the Akuluno United Brothers Association (AUBA) held in Enugu on Sunday night witnessed a significant milestone as former Governor of Abia State and Senator representing Abia North Senatorial zone, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, was formally installed as the Grand Patron of the elite pan-Igbo socio-cultural organization.
AUBA, a fast-growing body committed to driving economic development, youth empowerment, and social advancement across the South East, honored Senator Kalu for his outstanding contributions to regional progress and his longstanding support for developmental initiatives.

Although unavoidably absent from the event, Senator Kalu was represented by his brother, former Abia State Chief of Staff and All Progressives Congress Governorship aspirant Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, who delivered his acceptance message and affirmed his commitment to the association’s goals.

In a major gesture of support, Senator Kalu announced a donation of ₦100 million to strengthen AUBA’s community-oriented projects, including skill-development programs, infrastructural initiatives, and business support schemes across the South East. Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu also complemented this gesture with a personal donation of ₦10 million.

National President of AUBA, High Chief Mike Ejiofor, described Kalu’s elevation and contributions as a morale boost to the association and a clear demonstration of his unwavering dedication to the socio-economic upliftment of the region.
